When a local secondary school teacher asked me to mentor Theo, one of her students, little did I know where it would end up

Theo with an early version of EBNow
Eastbourne hosts hundreds of great events every year, but it’s often hard to find out what’s going on. If Theo could create something that’s hard to miss then we’d be satisfying a real need.
We talked about possible projects and decided that something to show events on TVs would be ideal.
Theo is a talented student and soon found his way around the challenge. He created a simple way of adding events and decided to use Android based dongles which would plug into any modern TV.
Theo entered his project into the British Science Association’s CREST award scheme and won a gold. The assessors said it was the first digital tech project they’d seen.
A lot has happened since then. We’ve received plenty of interest in Theo’s prototype and attracted £20,000 funding from the local Town Team to develop it further.
The team has grown too. Theo and Rob work on development, Adam helps with design and I help us all make good decisions about the product.
We think the sky’s the limit for EBNow. If you’d like a version in your town or something similar please get in touch.
